Gary Coleman
Dr. Gary Coleman completed is dental training at the University of Iowa in 1977 and after three years of general practice he returned to the University of Iowa for advanced training in diagnostic sciences. He was awarded the specialty certificate in oral pathology in 1982 and completed his M.S. in oral pathology in 1984. In 1986 he earned certification by examination from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr. Coleman taught oral and maxillofacial radiology from 1983 to 1986 at the Detroit-Mercy College of Dentistry and from 1986 to 1988 at the University of Pittsburg School of Dentistry. From 1988 to 2014 Dr. Coleman taught oral diagnosis at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. After retiring from full-time teaching Dr. Coleman and his wife moved back to Iowa City and he has taught part-time in the Dental Radiology Clinic at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Coleman has provided interpretive reports on cone beam scans since 2009 and since 2013 has been issuing interpretive consultations through BeamReaders, Inc.
