Dr. Ritu Tiwari

Dr. Tiwari is a faculty member at the Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences at the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry and also provides radiology reports through Beamreaders. Dr. Tiwari earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Barkatullah University, India, followed by a one-year internship in General Dentistry at People’s Dental College and General Hospital. She completed postgraduate training in Oral Medicine, Diagnosis, and Radiology at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India, leading to a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). Dr. Tiwari further completed a residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry and received her specialty certificate in 2022. At UCLA, Dr. Tiwari was awarded the Albert G. Richards Grant by American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR) for her research project on in-vitro assessment of dual energy CBCT. She was also the winner of the diagnostic challenge award at the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR) conference 2021.

Dr. Tiwari has presented at several national/international conferences, contributed to scientific literature through peer-reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer for journals. Dr. Tiwari is an active member of the AAOMR, ASHNR, Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), American Association for Women in Radiology (AAWR), American Dental Association (ADA), and Asian Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMFR). Dr. Tiwari served as a member of the AAOMR Sessions Task Force (2021-22) and is a member of the ASHNR Young Professionals Committee (2022-23).
